Privacy Policy for Voicey

Kali Ink Private Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Kali Ink”) built the Voicey app (“App”) as a subscription-based voice recording and AI transcription service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Voicey.

By using Voicey, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.


1. Information We Collect

1.1 Audio Recordings (On-Device Only)

Audio recordings are captured and stored exclusively on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your raw audio files on any server. Recordings remain under your full control and can be deleted at any time from within the App.

1.2 Transcripts

When you use the transcription feature, your audio is processed on-device to generate text transcripts. Transcripts are stored locally on your device by default.

When you use AI-powered features (such as AI notes, summaries, or the weekly digest), transcript text may be sent to third-party AI services (see Section 4) for processing. We recommend you avoid submitting highly sensitive personal data (such as financial details, medical records, or government identifiers) in voice recordings intended for AI processing.

1.3 Purchase History

When you subscribe to Voicey Pro or make in-app purchases, purchase-related data (such as subscription status, transaction identifiers, and pricing) is collected and processed by RevenueCat and Apple. We do not collect or store your payment card details.

1.4 Account Data

We collect a pseudonymous user identifier (RevenueCat app user ID) to manage your subscription and credit balance. This identifier is linked to your device but does not include your name, email address, or other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., when contacting support).

1.5 Usage Data

We may collect anonymized and aggregated usage data (such as feature usage frequency and app session data) to improve the App. This data is not linked to your identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App’s core features (recording, transcription, AI notes)
  • Manage subscriptions, credits, and in-app purchases
  • Improve the App through anonymized analytics
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate Voicey. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf:

4.1 RevenueCat

  • Purpose: Subscription management, in-app purchase processing, analytics
  • Data processed: Purchase history, subscription status, pseudonymous user ID, anonymized usage events
  • Role: Data processor
  • Note: RevenueCat does not collect payment card details. Payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store.

4.2 Firebase AI Logic / Google Gemini API

  • Purpose: AI-powered transcription enhancements, note generation, summaries, and weekly digest
  • Data processed: Transcript text submitted for AI processing
  • Data retention: Firebase AI Logic does not store model input/output by default. Retention may vary depending on the Gemini API billing tier and configuration. If Cloud Logging or monitoring is enabled, prompts may be logged per Google Cloud’s retention policies.
  • Note: Google may process data in the United States or other jurisdictions. See Section 7 for international transfer details.

4.3 Supabase (Planned)

  • Purpose: Cloud storage and synchronization of user data (planned feature)
  • Data processed: Anonymized or pseudonymized transcript data, user preferences
  • Security: Encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+), role-based access controls
  • Note: This service is not yet active. We will update this policy before enabling Supabase-backed features. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) will be executed prior to launch.

6. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • On-device storage for audio recordings (never transmitted to our servers)
  • Encrypted communication (TLS 1.2+) for all network requests
  • Pseudonymous identifiers instead of personally identifiable information
  • Minimal data collection principles
  • Access controls for all third-party service integrations

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.


7. International Data Transfers

Voicey is operated by Kali Ink Private Limited, based in Nepal. Your data may be processed in the following jurisdictions:

  • United States: Firebase AI Logic / Google Cloud infrastructure
  • United States: RevenueCat servers

Where data is transferred outside your jurisdiction, we rely on standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.


8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Delete your personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

9. Children’s Privacy

Voicey is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete such information.


10. Cookies and Tracking

Voicey does not use cookies, cross-app tracking, or advertising SDKs. We do not participate in ad networks or share data with advertisers.

The App’s privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking = false. We do not use the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework because no tracking occurs.


11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
  • Notify you through the App or via other appropriate means

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
